The gardens have different varieties of topography thus you will see that there are also different kinds of habitats inside the giant complex. Each habitat has their own native, exotic, and hybrid plants which cannot be found in any other environments. The beautiful and lush gardens of Zilker Botanical Gardens are just right down the street from where the refreshing Barton Springs are located. So you get to enjoy twice the fun in just one day!

Austin’s Zilker Botanical Garden is further divided into several types of themed gardens for visitors to explore. There’s the Japanese garden complete with a beautifully landscaped pond containing different species of koi fishes. In addition to the rose garden, there’s a new butterfly trail and garden that have been set up just recently. There’s also the fragrance and herb gardens as well as the succulent and cactus gardens. Moreover, the Zilker Botanical Garden has also included a prehistoric garden with plants spreading the entire 2 acres of land which includes plants that have been around during the cretaceous period.
